In 1984 I read a short essay about Roy Hall by Nick Tosches in his fabulous book, Unsung Heroes of Rock 'n' Roll. My takeaway was Roy Hall as the guy who wrote and first recorded "Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On" in 1956. At the time I was unable to find any recordings of his and lost track of the thread.

In 2010 I scored a cheap promotional CD from Bear Family Records entitled "All We Wanna Do Is Rock," featuring one track each from all 36 CDs in their various artists Rock... (more)
