"Sing A Simple Song" was somewhat overshadowed by "Everyday People" when initially released as its B-side. On the "Stand!" album it reached a much wider audience.

"I Want to Take You Higher" became an anthem after its unforgettable performance at the Woodstock festival. It was first released as a single on the B-side of "Stand!" two weeks prior to the release of the "Stand!" album in April 1969. At that time it gained little traction, charting weakly on its own 6 weeks later. "Higher" was then re-issued as a single in late spring 1970 when the Woodstock movie and soundtrack were released. At that time, competing singles by Sly & The Family Stone and by Ike & Tina Turner diluted each other`s chart success.
